The Dolcetto grape is originally from the Piedmonte region of Italy. The dark, thick skin allows for good color, medium tannins and medium acidity. In Italian Dolcetto means “little sweet one”. These grapes were harvested from a third-generation vineyard in the Willamette Valley and spent two years in French Oak barrels. This complex and moderately acidic wine has many fruit flavors on the nose, with all the dark fruit that you expect on the palate, including cherries, raspberry and strawberries.
